In this series of articles, we will try to explain how the game of golf is played and help you get started in the world of golf. We will start from the beginning by identifying the places were golf is played, moving to define the different parts of the golf course then explaining how the game is played and the etiquette of golf. We will also discuss many other things to help learn to play and enjoy the game of golf.
In our first topic we will learn the features of the different places where you can practice golf, there are three main places to practice golf, the driving range, the course itself and at home. Each place has its own advantages and its own specific function.
The ultimate place to learn is the driving range, the driving range is either an indoor or outdoor training ground that allows golfers to warm up or practice using a golf club of their choice. After taking the place in the box with a basket of balls, golfers then select a club and start practicing either by aiming at the targets placed in the driving range or by hitting the ball as far as possible using a driver, players can use all your clubs in the bag to practice the swing in the driving range. Hitting as many balls as a player can is one of the advantages of the driving range where there is no limit on the shots you can take.
The best place to practice golf is on the golf course, the course is the place for competitions and for playing under game conditions therefore you can practice how the golf is played in real conditions, instead of target practice where you hit one ball after the other there is only one objective when you play on a course which to get your ball from the teeing ground to the hole in as few shots as possible.
The third place to practice and the least common is at home or in the office using a putting mat, practicing at home is perfect to improve your putting techniques, you can also use a net to hit the balls at using a driver or wedges if you have enough space at home or in the garage.
