The first appearance of Tiger Woods after the last back surgery he had last December came on CBS Television during the final round of The Genesis Invitational held on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Tiger was hopeful he could make it to the Masters after his fifth back surgery, when asked by the host if he would be in Augusta National seven weeks from now, Woods replied: “God, I hope so” he continued “I got to get there first. Lot of it is based off my surgeons, my doctors, my therapists and making sure I do the recovery correctly. This is the only back I got, and I don’t have much wiggle room left there.”. Tiger, who last played in the PNC Championship in December with his son Charly holds five Masters titles, last came during his famous comeback in 2019.
When asked about how he is doing, he replied: “I’m feeling fine, a little bit stiff, Have one more MRI scheduled to see if the annulus has scarred over finally, and then I can start doing more activities. Still in the gym, still doing the mundane stuff that you have to do for rehab, the little things before you can start gravitating towards something a little more.”
On the other hand, Tiger commented when asked what he is doing: “I’ve lengthened my putter,” Woods said with a laugh. “I don’t have to bend over as far. I’ve gone to the same length as my sand wedge.”
Tiger is considered an Icon in the Masters, a Masters without Tiger Woods would not be the same, everyone is still hoping that tiger will be present on The Masters Sunday seven weeks from now.
