Harris English ended a 7 year long title drought on Sunday when he claimed the Sentry Tournament of Champions title in a playoff hole with Joaquin Niemann.
Harris had an unforgettable tournament, he played some of his best golf over the four days events, he held the lead or share of the lead from Friday. In the final round, he had the chance to win on the last hole but he finished with -25 equal with Niemann, but then he went to win the tournament title in the playoff.
Haris said after his win: “It feels amazing. All the hard work that has gone into this, all the highs and lows of golf that it brings over a career.”
He finished with a win in his remarkable tournament, a tournament that he wouldn’t play in normal conditions as it is a tournament only for champions of the previous year, but due to the pandemic the field was expanded as the previous year schedule was altered.
With this win, harris joined a list of player who have ended a long drought, the list includes in addition to Haris english, Stewart Cink, Brian Gay, Martin Laird and Robert Streb.
