The young American superstar Collin Morikawa became only the second player after Tiger Woods to win a major and a world golf championship titles before turning 25, Morikawa won his first title of the year in the Concession Golf Club taking home his first WGC win of his career.
The WGC-Workday tournament concluded on Sunday in Florida with a new winner in the events, Morikawa cruised to victory over the weekend and he played some of his best golf so far, he took the lead on Saturday with a round of five under 65 and went on to win the title with a final round three under 69. He finished the tournament at -18 with a three-shot lead over the second place shared by Billy Horschel, Viktor Hovland and Brooks Koepka, they all finished second at fifteen under par.
Morikawa is building up his career successfully as he becomes only the second player to win a Major tournament and Word Golf Championship tournament before turning 25, and the seventh player to win four titles including a major before turning 25. One of the remarkable improvements in his game was the change of putter grip, the change helped him put a lot better than his previous tournaments.
On the other hand, Hovland continues to impress with his high-level golf, Koepka finished a very good tournament despite the pain in the neck he felt on Saturday and Tony Finau is still playing tournaments in contention but unable to deliver and finish.
