clubs used when playing Golf
The woods are the biggest clubs in the bag and they are used to hit long drives and to cover big distances from either the teeing ground or on the course. Woods are divided into three categories: drivers, fairway woods and hybrids. For beginners it is recommended to use hybrids or fairway woods as they are easier to use.
The irons form the core of the golf clubs set, they are usually made up of five, six, seven, eight and nine irons. The smaller the club number, the bigger the distance it covers when hitting the ball.
Wedges are designed with more loft to help with shots close to the green or getting out of sand or bankers, the higher loft in wedges help with the shot precision around the green.
Putters are the precision clubs, contrary to other clubs, they are mainly used on the green with a pendulum movement to roll the ball in the hole.
