Body alignment for the swing

In this topic we will learn how to align the body to carry out a good swing, a good alignment of the body with the target will allow you to perform a more precise stroke and have better ball trajectory.

A good body alignment starts by identifying and practicing the following three steps, finding the line of play, positioning your feet naturally and correcting the positioning of your feet in relation to the line of play. To practice these steps you can use three iron clubs and practice balls.

First you have to define the line of play, place a ball on the practice position, choose your target, step back and define the line between your ball and the target which is called the line of play, to better visualize it place a club next to your ball to represent your line of play.

Then you have to find the natural positioning of your feet, take a second Club and fit yourself in the starting position aiming at your target, place the club in front of your feet to mark your alignment, now move back and compare your line of play with the natural alignment of your feet, if you see that the line of your feet is parallel with the line of play then you can take your shot, otherwise try to adjust your feet until you have a goold feet alignment.

Finally comes correcting the natural positioning of your feet in relation to the line of play, find a good alignment then move the second club close to you feet until it is parallel to your line of play. Get back into position behind the well-aligned Club and get in your starting position again with your feet up against the club. It will take some practice until you master the feet alignment to help execute a good shot.
