Arab golf has reached an exciting new milestone, as Moroccan amateur Adam Bresnu became the first Arab golfer to make the cut in a DP World Tour Rolex Series event at the 2025 Hero Dubai Desert Classic. At just 20 years old, Bresnu is proving that Arab golf talent is on the rise and ready to compete on the global stage.
Bresnu’s Performance at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic
Bresnu faced a challenging start in the opening round on Thursday, carding a 1-over-par 73. He had a brilliant start with three birdies in the first seven holes, struggled through the back nine.
Determined to turn things around, he delivered an impressive 3-under-par 69 in the second round, climbing the leaderboard to secure his historic cut at 2-under-par.
Speaking after his round, an ecstatic Bresnu shared:
“Let’s go! I feel great. I knew what I had to do before playing today. After yesterday’s round, I had a target in my head of two-under-par through nine holes to give myself a chance of making the cut. I did that! The last three holes were stressful, especially when I made a bogey on 16, but I trusted my game and pulled through.”
A Landmark Moment for Arab Golf
Bresnu’s achievement is monumental for Arab golf. With few Arab players making the cut on the big Tours, Adam result is a true turning point in history.
His success is also a reflection of the growing interest and support for Arab golfers from fans and organizations.
Bresnu’s Ambition: Not Just to Compete, But to Win
Despite making history, Bresnu is not content with just making the cut—his goal is to contend for the title.
“100%, of course, it might sound arrogant, but you have to think like that. I don’t want to just contend in an event and make up the numbers; I want to try and win.”
Bresnu’s confidence is backed by his stellar 2024 season, where he won multiple titles and proved he could compete with top players. Looking ahead, he is set to transfer to Texas Tech University, where he hopes to further develop his game and continue making strides in the world of golf.
