At the final LPGA tournament of the season, The CME Group Tour Championship, the world number one Jin Young Ko showed how world number one should win competitions. With a dominant performance in the last round, she outplayed world number two Sei Young Kim and won the tournament and the $1.1 million money prize of the tournament.
The south Corian was paired with her compatriot for the final round of the season, Ko and Kim were tied for the lead going until the back nine of the round were ko birdied five of seven holes to win the tournament with a five-shot lead.
Although Ko started her season only in late November, and participated in four tournaments only, she managed it with excellence and took home the biggest prize of the season.
The LPGA season ended with the CME Group tour championship and will resume at the beginning of next year with a new season that will have a record money purse.
